Everett Rupert Pierce was born on March 3, 1929 in Prince Rupert, BC. He was the second-last born of 13 children and the last to die. He lived in Prince Rupert until 1997 when he and his wife, Margaret, moved to the Lower Mainland. Everett died in his sleep in the early morning hours of December 16, 2024 after being hospitalized 2 months earlier.
Everett married Margaret in 1964 and they spent over 60 years together. Their daughter, Lynn, died in a motor vehicle accident in 1989 at the age of 22, which was a painful loss. Everett’s ashes will be placed at Lynn’s gravesite in Surrey. Everett is survived by his wife, Margaret, his son, Lorne, his daughter-in-law, Barbra, and his grandchildren, Sean and Shana.
Everett worked as a marine electrician and business owner in his beloved hometown. Coffee time twice daily was a time when Everett thrived as he met with locals and reminisced. This tradition continued in Langley and Chilliwack and Everett would be found meeting with regulars at Tim Hortons at 6 a.m. He is probably serving coffee in heaven.
Everett and Margaret attended the Prince Rupert Fellowship Baptist Church for over 30 years and he served as Chairman of the Board, Sunday School bus driver, and set up the chairs and preschool weekly for over 20 years. He was a man with a servant’s heart―a man of few words, but of deep feeling and dedication. He loved God and served Him and others faithfully. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
