George Braun went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2017 at Chilliwack at 106 years. Born in Shitomir, Ukraine. In 1914 / 15, he was exiled to Siberia. In 1921 he went back to the Ukraine, served in World War 2, and immigrated to Canada in 1962. He married Emilie Ketler in 1964, and lived in Chilliwack. George will be sadly missed by his children Waldemar, Harry, Adolf and Hilde; his many grand, great grand & great great grandchildren, living in Germany. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 8th, 2017 from 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm, at the Church of God, 45814 Lewis Ave., Chilliwack, with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm.
The graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at the Chilliwack Cemetery. Thank-you to the staff at Cascade Lodge and Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, Chilliwack, BC.
