Glenna Jean Heugh (nee Zipse) passed away February 26, 2017 in Chillwack, BC with her family by her side after a very brief battle with cancer. She was born January 20, 1941 in Stettle, Alberta. Glenna is survived by her daughters Charlene (Brad), Karyn (Stan), son Bradley (Danielle), grandchildren Lily, Lucy, Jaxton, and Ruby, brother Ken (Norma), nephews Dean and Scott Zipse, numerous cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Brian, and her parents Paul and Pearl Zipse.
Mom was a person whom was loved by all. From her ladies at the Sardis Fellowship Bible study group, the Ladies Auxiliary, her knitting and sewing groups, and of course her church family at Carmen United Church. She volunteered and helped whenever needed including baby clinics, flu shots, and blood donor clinics. She was always ready for a road trip or a weekend away and also had an adventurous side. Mom liked to drive fast, play cards, go camping, and sitting around the campfire. She was known to be an avid walker, an excellent green thumb, and would stay up all night Black Friday shopping every November. She has completed the Vancouver Sun Run and has climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia. Mom had a kind spirit and loved to laugh. She made friends quickly and children loved her. Yet it was the love and pride she had for her children and grandchildren that truly made her life complete.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Carmen United Church in Chilliwack, BC. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Glenna's name can be made to the Chilliwack Hospice Society
.
Arrangements under the direction of Henderson's Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd., Chilliwack, British Columbia.
