Hannah Rebecca Hoogstraten

June 13, 2001-August 1, 2023

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear daughter Rebecca. She was a dear daughter, grand-daughter, sister, niece, and cousin. She was also a beloved girlfriend and best friend to Curtis. She was born in Chilliwack on June 13, 2001, and tragically taken from us on August 1, 2023 near Hope, BC at the age of 22.

She was a dear daughter to Rinus and Lianne, a wonderful and caring older sister to William and Jacob, a special girlfriend to Curtis, and a dear granddaughter to Bill and Hannie Bisschop, and the late Willem and Jacoba Hoogstraten. She will be deeply missed by all her close-knit aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Rebecca was a positive and caring person that was an inspiration to the many that met her. She did everything with such positive heartfelt passion, which was also evident in her school, work, and life. Right after graduating high school, she became an education assistant for special needs children at Mount Cheam Christian School. She thoroughly loved this and gave it her absolute all. During this time, she also did nighttime and weekend milkings at a local dairy farm. In the last two years she had started her own house cleaning company where many had the privilege to have known and work with her.

She has always loved animals. Jayda (her rottweiler) was always with her whether it was traveling or just as company at home She faithfully made the trip with Jayda from Chilliwack (where she lived and worked) to Armstrong (where we, her parents and brothers live) to visit family and her beloved horse Clover.

She will always be deeply missed by her loving family, and will be remembered for her contagious laugh, bubbly personality, and sassy comments. Rebecca will always be in our hearts and thoughts.

A Funeral Service for Hannah will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Reformed Congregation in North America, 9696 Gibson Road, Chilliwack, BC V2P 6H4. A Graveside service will occur Monday, August 14, 2023 from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM at Chilliwack Cemeteries, 10010 Hillcrest Dr, Chilliwack, BC V2P 7X1. A Reception, following Graveside will occur Monday, August 14, 2023 at Mount Cheam Christian School, 48988 Yale Road, Chilliwack, British Columbia V4Z0B2.
