Hilary Routley, aged 94, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. Hilary was born February 24, 1930 in Macklin, Saskatchewan. She was the eldest of four children born to Reg and Lena Partington. Hilary lived a full and rewarding life and touched the lives of many throughout her ninety-four years.
Hilary met her life partner, Kip Routley, in 1948, and on New Year's Day in 1949, they were married in Francois Lake, B.C. They were happily married for sixty-one years. During these years they built a life together in both Francois Lake and Meadow Creek, B.C. They ended up spending their retired years in Creston, B.C. After Kips’ passing in 2010, Hilary moved to Agassiz to reside with her daughter, Tina, and family until she moved over to an assisted living facility in Agassiz, B.C.
Hilary had many hobbies and interests…..an avid seamstress/quilter, gardening, cooking and could hold a competitive edge in any card game! She spent many hours volunteering for her church and other social groups. Hilary will be remembered for her natural warm and kind personality. She had a charismatic ease for connecting with people, making friends easily wherever she went.
Hilary is survived by her four children, Gloria, Tina, Ken, Tony and their respective families including eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Hilary is also survived by her youngest sister, Sylvia, and numerous other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made to the All Saints Anglican Church or the Friendship House Seniors Activity Center, both located in Agassiz, B.C.
