With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ian Clayton O’Brien on April 5, 2015 at Chilliwack BC at the age of 27. Ian was born in Nanaimo, BC as a fraternal twin with his sister Casea. Ian was the most amazing son, a loving brother and uncle. He loved his niece and cared deeply about others.
Ian enjoyed taking pictures, basketball, fishing, hiking, weight lifting and making videos. He had a nick name of ‘iron finger’ as he’d give us a poke and we would be bruised for a week. He had a soft spot for women struggling with their weight and his long term goal was to be a personal trainer. Ian’s dream was to get married and have 7 kids and live a clean and sober life. However, he never bounced back from the death of his twin sister.
Ian was working at Homer’s Restaurant in Chilliwack before he passed away, working toward his dream of becoming a Chef and owning his own sports pub – “O’Brien’s Pub”.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother Darlene O’Brien, sister Fallon Kane, niece Damiana Darlene Kane, brother-in-law James Kane, grandparents Vern and Diane O’Brien (Peterborough, ON), and many cousins. He is predeceased by his stepdad Rick O’Brien and his twin sister Casea O’Brien.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack BC.
