James Robert "Bob" Whitehead

Bob passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at “Cummings Home” in Courtenay, BC. He was 86 years old. Bob was born on November 26, 1929 in Stratford, Ontario to Beatrice and Arthur Whitehead. He had seven siblings, Pat, Mary, Ted, Bill, George, Stella and Edith. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1953 – 1973. Bob loved to travel, golf, and spend time with family. He also enjoyed playing hockey and baseball and curling. He was a loyal Blue Jays fan.

He was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife Audrey of 61 years. She passed away September 9, 2012. He was a loving father to Sherry (Tom), Jim (Vici) and Dan (Georgette), grandfather to David (Arlene), Adam (Krista), Eryn (Aaron), Laura (Keith), Justin, Matthew (Jana) and Miranda, and great-grandfather to Talia, Ava, Nikolas, Nola, Asha, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Mackenzie and James. Bob was a special friend to all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Bob’s memory, by way of donation, may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A Memorial Service will be held at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, BC on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1:00pm.
