John is survived by his daughters Dannette (Neil), Jannette (Jared) and his grandchildren, Tianna, Taia and Kylan. His mother Lina, his siblings David, George (Cindy), Diane, Edward (Sam), Adam (Darlene), Mae (Victor) and his nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his grandmother Pang Shui Kwak and father Ming Siu.
A Funeral Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 at Vedder View Cemetery, Chilliwack, BC.
John grew up in Hong Kong and immigrated to Vancouver, BC at age 16 with his brother David and grandma. Soon after he lived in Campbell River, BC where he started his family. Dad opened his first restaurant the Canton in 1979 and later moved to Bridal Falls and opened his second restaurant the China Chef Diner in 1996.
Dad was a man living for God. Dad was caring, generous and a humble servant. His dedication and life work was to selflessly serve others. He was eager and joyfully volunteered atthe Bridge, Teen Challenge, Ruth and Naomi’s and the Salvation Army.
His love language was to pray and cook for others and share a meal together.

He will be forever missed and loved by his family, friends and his Church at the Solid Rock.
