OBITUARY

Joseph Gerald Fernand Duguay

August 10, 1951 – September 19, 2020
Obituary of Joseph Gerald Fernand Duguay
IN THE CARE OF

Henderson's Funeral Homes & Crematorium

Gerald was born in Timmins, Ontario August 10, 1951. He had an impact on many people’s lives.

At a young age Gerald became an entrepreneur on the streets. He was young at heart, loved to tell jokes, perform magic tricks, share stories of past experiences and had old school values and morals. He served 2 terms in Vietnam as a Marine, where he became an explosives expert, a scout and Sergeant. He liked to give people nicknames; his was ‘ghost’ because no one saw him coming.

Gerald was a miner for over 50 years; he loved to be part of his land and at one with the land. This brought him much joy and left an imprint on him for the rest of his life.

Gerald was kind hearted, generous, a nature lover, enjoyed old western movies, loved trivia and biographies. He loved his pets, Cricket, Joey, Muffin and Lily. He loved old country music especially Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr., and partied with Willie Nelson. Travelling was important to him and he always said, “the highway was his home”. He was a strong mentor to those around him; he took care of his community and its people.

He called me (Wendy) his rock, but he was my rock, my North Star, my soulmate.

On August 16, 2018 he died for ten minutes, was in a coma, and came back to life. Doctors and nurses were amazed and shocked. I am thankful and grateful I had another 2 years with my soulmate.
