Linda Beth Arleen Bitterman

Linda was born on August 15, 1954, in Killam, AB, a small farming community southeast of Edmonton, AB, to Talmage and Elizabeth Taralson, who are predeceased. She is survived by her siblings Rose Klaric (Adam), Bryon Taralson (Bev – predeceased), Colleen Taralson (Barry), and Tim Taralson (Kim), along with many other loving family members.

Linda leaves behind her husband of over 50 years, Rod Bitterman of Chilliwack, BC, along with her son Richard Bitterman, daughter-in-law Nadine, and grandson Thomas, and her daughter Crystal Colbourne, son-in-law David, and grandchildren Addyson, Alexander, and Aiden.

While Linda spent most of her childhood and youth growing up on her family farm in Killam, she also lived in Peace River, Red Deer, and Jasper, and spent time travelling the North. Linda moved to Victoria in the fall of 1973, where she met her love, Rod, the following year. Linda and Rod were married on September 7, 1975, and they lived in Victoria until 1977, when they moved to Toronto, ON. In 1978, Linda completed her RNA from nursing college, and one year later, Richard was born in North York, ON. Linda and Rod moved back to BC in 1980 to plant a church in Vancouver, where Crystal was born to complete their family.

Along with being in the ministry with Rod, Linda was a nurse for many years and worked in multiple quilting stores in the Lower Mainland, where she was able to work in her passion and meet many wonderful people.

In recent years, Linda’s love and focus have been on her four beautiful grandchildren. From taking Addyson horseback riding while reminiscing about her childhood horses, watching Alex and Aiden play baseball and basketball while being part of the community, and spending countless hours on FaceTime calls with Thomas, talking about his latest Lego creations.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends richly and deeply. Linda accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her life in her youth and never swayed from her dedication and devotion to live her life and passion for God to the fullest for all in her circle and those beyond.

Linda, you will be more than missed. You will be the centre of our lives forever and to generations yet to come because of who and what you were and called us to be!!

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 2 pm at Main Street Church, located at 9325 Main Street, Chilliwack, BC.
