

Lorina Marcella Jim passed away on September 15, 2024 at the age of 59. She was born on November 9, 2024 in Chilliwack, BC. She grew up with her family in the Whonnock area of Maple Ridge. She graduated from Maple Ridge Senior Secondary High School in the school year of 1982/3.
Lorina worked as a Tabulator, Historical Record Keeper, Researcher, Stenographer, Pow-wow Tabulator, Service Worker, and as Matriarch to the Xwewenaqw/Stlatlimx Xwexwilmelh. She was actively involved as a Pow-wow Jingle Dancer, Fraser Valley Drumgroup Singer, Land Defender, Fisherman, Hunter, as well as Karate. She also cherished spending time with her family.
Lorina is preceded in death by her Father, Willard Jim, and Robert Thomas, her Grandparents Martina and Pat Joe, Fidele Henry, Mathias Smith-Jim and Annie Jim, Papa Bob Thomas (Wanna), and Rita Leon (Roland).
Lorina is survived by Mary Ellen Hart (Elias), Kamiya Jim-Goulet, Corrine Jim-Goulet, John Lee Glass, and Alysha Jim Girvan.
She was tiny but tough, selfless and thoughtful. She was a Matriarch with so much knowledge; a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was always laughing and a beautiful singer and dancer.
