He was born and raised here in B.C. and was one of eight children to John and Helen Ferguson. He is survived by all three of his sisters; Iris, Doreen and Loverna as well as two of his brothers; Rick and Glen. He recently had lost his other brothers, Wayne and Mervin.
Lorne met Diane in Hope and they married in 1976. They had two children, Lindsay and Meaghan.
He worked in Hope and surrounding areas and was fortunate to be able to travel during his time building log homes. He traveled to Italy, Germany and Korea.
He loved camping and 4x4’ing and mostly he loved being a grandpa to Ethan, Roane, Aiden and later Tristan. He had two grandsons in just a few months of each other and they became his mini sidekicks. “Grampy Lorne” was a jokester, he was a silly kind of a grandpa. He made the most of every visit he had with them…bike rides with Ethan and campfires in the backyard when they could. Spending hours building Lego and trains with the boys. He welcomed Aiden with open arms and had so much fun whooping all three of their butts at nerf wars when he visited Calgary. He was so excited to have a new grandson, Tristan, a decade later but was happy to have a napping buddy in his big comfy chair. He tried to teach Tristan how to talk like Donald Duck and of course that made his newest ‘lil buddy’ laugh hysterically. Lorne was a fun dad and an even more fun Grampa. We will miss him.
We love you Dad!
Love “the boy” and “Ralph”
