b. March 3, 1933 Vancouver, BC
d. September 9, 2017 Chilliwack, BC
Although in declining health in recent weeks, Louise passed away peacefully having spent the day with her loving husband and two daughters.
A proud Vancouverite, Louise was raised in Kitsilano and it was at Kitsilano High she met the love of her life, Bob Olsen. They were married in 1954 and went on to have three children: Christine, Suzanne, and Rob. In 1965 the family made the move to Toronto when Bob accepted the job of a lifetime at the Toronto Star newspaper. Louise was a long-time member of the East York Curling Club and famous amongst family and friends for her master sewing skills, delicious Easter cheesecake, and wonderful sense of humour. In 1998 Bob and Louise returned to BC to enjoy their retirement years back in the province they loved so much.
Louise loved her Scottish heritage, Jericho Beach, the colour blue, and a good strong cup of Red Rose tea. Family meant everything to Louise; she was, above all else, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Louise is deeply missed by her beloved husband Bob; daughters Christine March (Ron) and Suzanne Olsen; her two grandchildren Sean March (Erin Stripe) and Andrea March (Jeffrey Waite); her sister Margaret Rice, and brother-in-law William Olsen. Also missing Louise is her faithful feline companion, Shadow.
The family would like to thank Dr. Angeline Sia-Venugopal for her years of considerate care and the team at the Bradley Centre for making Louise’s final days as comfortable as possible.
Cremation has taken place. Louise will be buried alongside her son Rob at Mountainview Cemetery in Vancouver. Arrangements entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home, Chilliwack.
