Dearest Michelle,
Oh my dear old friend. What a heartache for you. The surreal numbness of such a loss. We had so many good times together all those years ago. So many memories. So much love.

I send love and hugs and pray for the repose of Mike’s soul. May God be with you and comfort you. May you find peace in the memories of your life together and lived well. How I wish I could take this from you.
Much love,

Michelle, I'm so sorry for your loss! Hjortur told us about Mike's passing . I am so grateful for the question that Mike asked me years ago--when I was considering a career change---"Why would you want a career in Corrections?" Somehow he knew I wouldn't be suited for that environment. I have read some of the on-line information about Mike--his awards and the recognition he received in Corrections, his work with Bowls of Hope, and more. He was amazing. May God grant you and your family all the comfort, strength, and wisdom that you need in this very difficult time.

The loss of this great guy is felt so widely. Mike and Michelle are rare individuals placed on earth to spread the meaning of love, care and compassion to others as is evident in how they raised their beautiful family and opened their home and hearts to so many. The last we saw Mike was about four years ago by chance at the Calgary Airport where he noticed us and shouted over to us. We sat for awhile and caught up on our families and his big smile and personality will stay with us always. Rest In Peace Mike. I bet you are wearing the biggest wings as you watch down on your family. Hugs to each of those left behind as they navigate this huge void.
