July 31, 1931 – July 22, 2022
Otto passed away July 22, 2022 in Chilliwack, BC, just days short of his 91st birthday.
Otto was an awesome man and father, not just to his daughter and sons, but to so many people who were blessed to know him during the 90 years he walked the planet.
His life did not start off easy. He was born in Germany in 1931 and lived on a farming homestead that has been in the family for many generations. He survived the rise and fall of the Third Reich and immigrated to Canada in the 1950s.
He was a highly intelligent, funny, and kind person who was passionate about fishing, the outdoors, and gardening. He was not only a father to his own children, but he was also a father figure to so many of their friends and the young people who had good employment and a steady paycheck thanks to Ivis Wood. He was always so generous with sharing his passions with friends and family and he was much beloved.
Otto is survived by his son Paul and his wife Julie, daughter Linda, son Alan and his wife Rebecca, and grandchildren Alexander, Sebastian, Grayson, Skylar, Kiegan, and Kelton. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan.
Friends, family, and other loved ones are welcome to attend Otto’s Celebration of Life at the Yarrow Community Centre on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 12 pm to 4 pm.
