Pearl Irene Parkhill

Sue was born the eldest Daughter of Samuel & Lorene Eastwood in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on January 5th, 1938. Sue spent her early years in Moose Jaw and married Jerry November 12, 1955. They spent a few years travelling from town to town in BC for Dad’s job, eventually settling down in Maple Ridge for 14 years and then moved to Chilliwack in 1976. After the passing of her husband of 67 years in 2022 Mom moved back to Maple Ridge to a senior’s residence in 2023.

Mom will forever be remembered for always stepping up to any task Dad talked her into. She gave tirelessly to numerous club events and committees with their beloved Jaguars for 50 years. There were likely few gatherings that did not include her baking or meals for those gathered. She always showed up to family gatherings with everything needed to make our traditional desserts and boxes of cookies to share. She always knew our favorites and she baked those cookies the last Christmas spent with us all, chocolate chip and whipped shortbread.

Sue is survived by her 3 children Diane (Len), Al (Kim) and Sandi (Kim), 8 grandchildren Dawn (Mike), Tyler (Kellie), Cody (Latisha), Allan (Amanda), Julia, Cassandra, Jennifer (Kurtis) and Carolyn (Beau) and 15 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Blake, Carson, Robbie, Owen, Theron, Mason, Londyn, Isaac, Joey, Benjamin, Logan, Oliver, Lexi and Riley. Sue is also survived by her sister Jean, brother John and sister-in-laws Betty and Marlene, and many nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan.

Sue was also predeceased by her youngest son Mike in 1982, her parents, and brothers Alec & George.
