Evan (Ray)
Nov 21, 1946 - Nov 25, 2021
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Ray "Papa" McDonald. He passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at the age of 75.
Ray is survived by his loving wife Norma; children: Robby(Kim), Brenda(Cory); step children: Bridget(Mark), Lance, Lori(Glenn) & Ian; brothers: David(Flo), Robert(Barb); 10 grandchildren; 3 GG Grandchildren; 1 GGG Grandchild & countless other family and friends. He was predeceased by his Father Leonard, Mother Irene, and grandsons, Joel, Christian & Jordan.
Ray was an amazing, genuine, loving, thoughtful, caring, generous, and respected man with a big heart. He enjoyed the simple things in life and a big hug would light up his day. He had a huge passion for cars and drag racing; from building, to racing, to watching them. In 1973 he achieved an NHRA acceleration record at the Mission Raceway. He spent the past 15 years as a mechanic & mentor at Al's Supply House where his co workers gave him the nickname "Doc". They said he should wear whites instead of dark coveralls as he could fix anything. He was always there to help people out no matter how big or small the task.
He was very proud of his family & loved them very much, as long as he knew they were happy and doing well he was happy. It's an honour and a privilege to all who have had him be a part of their lives. He leaves us with a big void in our lives and will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue.
~ Always in our thoughts, Forever in our hearts, Loved for always~
