It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Wager on November 1, 2024, at the age of 55 years old. Ray was born on October 15, 1969 in Vancouver, B.C., to Dennis and Vickie (Menini) Wager.
Ray met the love of his life and beloved wife, Lori (Abraham) Wager of 24 years at the Road King truck stop in Alberta in March of 1999. Ray and Lori had a connection that was like no other, and they married the following year on December 22, 2000. They said their vows "Their way" at a drive thru wedding parlor in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ray was a man of many trades but he started his career as a skilled Truck Driver when he worked with West Coast Amusements for 8 years. Ray worked for various companies driving truck across Canada and the U.S. with his wife, Lori, and living their best lives. He also spent time driving garbage trucks and, during the last 7 years, working as a shipper/receiver before being diagnosed with cancer.
Ray enjoyed fishing and camping with friends, and enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren. Ray enjoyed going back to Penticton B.C. every August to enjoy Peachfest and it's festivities, and listening to live music. Ray loved riding his "Harley" with his wife, Lori, on the back enjoying what life had to offer.
Ray was predeceased by his father, Dennis Wager, and by his mother, Vickie Wager.
Ray is survived by his beautiful wife, Lori Wager, and his son, Dustin Wager, his Grandchildren (Holden, Holliday, and Olive), his sister, Charlene Holbeche, a nephew, Brandon (Katelyn) Holbeche, a niece, Caitlan Holbeche, his many great nieces and nephews, cousins, two brother in laws, Gary and Jim, and a distant brother, Stan.
A special thank you to the staff at Cascades Hospice and also to the home health care workers that provided their assistance to our beloved Husband, Dad, Sibling, and Grandfather. RIP!!
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date during the Spring or Summer of next year, which was Ray's favourite time of the year.
