

Rueben Albert aka Rudy Cockburn passed away on June 22, 2013 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer, at Chilliwack General Hospital at age76 years. He was born December 7, 1936 in Montreal, Quebec. Rudy is survived by his spouse, Martha “Martie” Lepage; his children, daughter, Wanda Janzen; sons Rick (Katherine) Janzen, and Randy Janzen; grandchildren, Myles, Michelle and Madeline; great grandchild, Mayson Janzen; his sisters, Margaret, Alice and Nancy as well as his brother, John Cockburn. He was predeceased by his parents, Reuben and Margaret Cockburn and brothers Bill and Harold Cockburn.
Rudy spent his career in the Printing industry, refining his craft in numerous shops across Canada for the last 48 years. He ended his career with the Vancouver Sun Newspaper. Rudy loved the great outdoors and the love of his pets. He was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Club.
The family would like to thank our friends and neighbours. Dr. Bull and Dr. Enns and all the medical support staff. Special gratitude extended to the Lock’s Pharmacy staff whose help and service went above and beyond. Last but not least, the Red Cross Equipment Loan Service for the loaned equipment.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Anavet’s Service Club, 46268 Yale Rd Chilliwack, BC If any so desire, please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Agency or to the Canadian Red Cross in Rudy’s memory.
