Richard Thomas Hounslow

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Thomas Hounslow on February 1, 2025, in Chilliwack, BC. Born on March 22, 1955, in Vancouver, Rick lived a full life filled with love, laughter, and hard work.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Ephraim (Pete) and Winnifred Hounslow. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne Hounslow, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful children: Tyler and Brittni. Rick was also a proud father-in-law to Jenn and loving grandfather to Oscar, who brought him immeasurable joy. A loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and uncle, Rick’s family was the center of his world.

A skilled carpenter by trade, he worked for many companies throughout his career, including Humphrey Construction, Wales McLelland Construction, and Spire Development. His craftsmanship and dedication to his work were evident in every project he undertook. He was a perfectionist at heart.

Rick’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was an avid gardener and could often be found tending to his lawn or walking his dogs. Known for his great sense of humor, Rick had a unique ability to light up any room he entered, bringing laughter and warmth to those around him. He was also a sports enthusiast and had an uncanny knowledge of every player on every NHL team, making him a true fan in every sense of the word. He loved music, especially classic rock, making sure his children knew who BTO, CCR and Deep Purple were.

Rick’s legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort.
