Robert James Thompson

Robert James Thompson (Bob), born July 19, 1936 in Powell River, BC passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 1, 2023 after a short illness. Bob leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Honora, son Michael (Michelle), daughter Kim, stepchildren Nick (Sue), Peter (Donna) and Tracy (Wayne). He was an adored Grandpa or "Grumps" to Andrew, Carys, Piper, Kris, Emily and Thomas. He will be missed by many friends, his brother Bill and family and so many whom he met through his business and personal endeavours. Bob was a well-known face within their small community in Chilliwack and would often been seen greeting people with a friendly smile or chat as he walked or scootered along with beloved pup, Katie.

Bob enjoyed a long and successful professional career serving on numerous provincial and national boards and retiring as Vice President Sale & Marketing for Versacold. Once retired he and Nora travelled extensively in their RV enjoying the outdoors and their shared love of fishing in the local lakes.

Bob was predeceased by his mother Mary (Conkey), father John Thompson and brother Jack.

Memorial service to be held at 2pm on Tuesday, October 17th at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack with a reception to follow.
