My cousin embodied all the virtues; kind, humble, patient, diligent, thoughtful, positive, courageous, faithful, charitable, fair, prudent & moderate. A hard-working devoted husband & doting father.  He was not just generous with his money & time. He generously listened, gave people the benefit of the doubt, shared his knowledge & handy-man skills.  He was not only courageous in physical activities, the raw honesty with which he shared thoughts & feelings showed a rare level of integrity & bravery. His combination of pragmatic-wisdom & authenticity made his observations startlingly astute. Indeed, his counsel steered two of my life-altering decisions.  

As kids, Timmy, his older brother & I spent glorious summers with my brother, Jason, building forts & rafts, playing cops & robbers, picking blackberries, exploring farmyards & playing in our grandparents’ pool.  Tim inherited our grandfather’s penchant for niggling people. I will forever cherish his trademark grin & gleam in his eye when he knew he’d touched a nerve. 
All my friends know of Tim’s family, not just because of their hospitality but because, when you’re a single-mom, waking up Christmas morning to find your cousin washing your car is like waking up to diamonds. It was Tim’s offer to make a 4-hour drive to fetch me after my car was totaled that restored my faith in humanity. Astonishingly, he found time for home-improvements, sports, hiking & triathlons.  I often wondered how much was fueled by his wife, an awe-inspiring combination of Gordon Ramsey, Martha Stewart, & Christmas Abbott who should have her own TV show. 
Tim’s way of being made a space for those around him to be authentic, feel safe, protected, heard & accepted. While my experiences have left me too fearful & neurotic to ever hope to achieve Tim’s level of grace, balance or self-confidence, I will strive to honour his life by bringing his virtues to bear in my relationships. May God speed peace comfort to all pained by this loss. 

Tim was a great man and I count it a privilege to have known him and worked with him. He was loved and well respected .... he was a one in a million kind of guy that took time to invest in people.
When Tim comes to mind, I  remember his integrity, honesty, and the positive influence he had on so many people....I also remember  His great  sense of humor,  his Tim laugh and that shit eatin grin of his when he got ya.....  he will be missed but never forgotten...

Tim was not only our colleague, but also our friend. We will miss his intelligence, cheerfulness, empathy, helpfulness and his enthusiastic "Hi Guys!" as he entered our workplace, ready to tackle the technical challenges we presented to him. Tim was well respected and will remain forever in our memories as a truly decent and exceptional person.  Our deepest condolences.

I have worked with Tim for the last year or so,  he was a good man and a good leader, and will be missed but not forgotten. RIP Tim.

I carpooled to work with Tim for several years - five days a week for thirty minutes each way. I learned a lot from Tim - I respected him for his sincerity and empathy. My life over those years was  so greatly enriched by having him as a friend. Tim talked so much and so highly of his family.  I’m so grateful for the time I shared with Tim - I’m so deeply sorry for his family’s loss

I'm so sorry to hear of Tim's passing. We worked together on and off at UBC on various projects. He was always so happy,  friendly, and most of all genuine. I felt like I could trust him. He was one of the first people in my career to teach me to look under the worker for the human beneath as we shared personal stories. My deepest condolences to friends and family.
