Hi Judy,, this is Allan from Canada B.C. but now I live in Costa Rica for 11 years. Bill helped me with my ranch project, THE COUNTRY VALLEY RANCH PROJECT. do you remember?? Sorry, I lost touch with you guys but did not expect to find you this way. So sorry for your loss Judy I really loved and respected Bil. He was a great friend to me and helped me so much with my dream to create a Christian Hores Ranch. But just to let you know the ranch project died for 27 years and now I possibly have a chance for God to water the seed that I planted many years ago with Bill's help. I pray for your family and for your health and prosperity Judy. You and Bill were so kind and loving to me and my heart will never forget the hospitality you both shared. I have a picture of Bill and me at one of the ranched we visited. I am now married to a wonderful woman of God from Costa Rica, Janette and I send you love and blessing. My Deepest Condolences to Judy and Family...

Now in Heaven my friend, where the paint goes on perfect, the weather is always tropical and you can paint any wall anytime... When bucked off a horse it never hurts, and only the warmth & smiles of Jesus could surpass yours...

You & Judy became instant close friends, 1st when I met you guys at Camp Chehalis on a Weekend Church Group Help Day... You & Judy taught me a ton, to much to list here, but here are just a few...

You & Judy always spend the starting hours of the day, in devotion with the Lord you God...
You & Judy always had the warmest, friendliest smiles on the planet, bar none...
You & Judy taught me to stop and breath, take a moment and see the underneath of a leaf and flower...
You & Judy taught me, problems in life are mere challenges for opportunities to help develop our ability...
You & Judy taught me, in order to have a hot cup of coffee in the morning, 1st fill the cup with hot water while the coffee brews, still do it today...
You & Judy taught met to treat the enemy with respect and often they become your ally...
Bill, I will miss meeting you at the Local Rodeo and Main Event enjoying the horse events...
Bill, I will miss the opportunity to call you on the Cell when passing the green painting van on the byways around the Wack...
Bill, I know you are in dialogue with the Lord every day for all your family friends and foes back here on planet earth...
I will always remember being on the couch at your home, the morning of 911, Seemed the world was coming to a close... It was a reminder that life is much to short and everything comes to a conclusion...

The Words, Rest in Peace are often Said in Conclusion...
 I agree with the Peace part, but I'll bet you're busier then ever, exploring all Heaven has to offer... No need to Rest for one never tires in heaven... :) 


 I will never ever forget the many things I learned from Bill.


Once

As a young man at Pioneer Chahalis I was thrilled when Bill left me the task of repairing an electric drill cord while he ran a couple of errands. I did what was asked of me and confidently moved on to the next thing.

Later at supper Bill returned and made his stately entrance into the dining room saying hi to all and smiling big as he wound his way toward my table. Feeling special I was because it was obvious that I was his destination. He asked me how I was and if I had finished repairing the drill. I said I had. Then with a smile on his face he shook his head no, beckoning me to follow him. I felt bewildered and somewhat anxious as we walked to the workshop me in silence, him greeting others. He pointed to the work bench where the evidence of my work lay, the screw driver and various cord bits laying about. "Your not done until you put things away and clean up" he said. A pat on my back and a broad smile assured me he loved and accepted me in spite of my immaturity. 

I learned through Bill that day to have a tidy work space and to accept people when they aren't perfect. 
I have told this story to more young people over the years then I can remember. Bill's life has touched not only mine, but is still touching others.

Thank you God for giving Bill to each of us for the time that you did. Thank you that you have taken him to experience your love unencumbered by human limitations. And thank you that soon, we too will join him and know your gentle ways first hand ourselves, when one day you call us to come home as well.

Just a note to say hello and share my condolences. I was unaware of Bill's passing until  Gordon Stewart passed last week in Vancouver. I was in touch with Neil when he mentioned he was also headed to a celebration of Bill's life "up the valley".  Because of our individual work with Pioneer (I at Manitoba Pioneer and for a couple brief periods at Pacific) and probably because of his roots back here in Manitoba I always looked forward to meetings where Bill would be there or times when I would be visiting Chehalis. We also worked a little together when he came over to Thetis when I and family were there working during a sabbatical time. One time was when we were re-connecting that large floating dock on the bay that was broken in two from a winter storm.  Such a wonderful and gentle man I remember. Am  sure you are missing him. May the God of all comforts be with you and family in these days and into the future.  Joe Moder

Dear Bill,

My dad just wrote the previous tribute, so I am the Jill he just mentioned.  

My sister Pam and I really loved being at Pioneer Chehalis and learned so much working for you.  I loved the way you were with the children and the horses, so patient and kind.  And You had  such positive encouraging way of bringing out the best in everyone especially Pam!!!

Dear Bill:

You did so much for both of my daughters, Jill and Pam.  Particularly for Pam, when you "rescued" her from her stresses in Grade 12 in Vancouver by offering her the chance to look after the horses with you that winter, and quickly getting her back into school at Chehalis where she suddenly bloomed, in a smaller and less competitive setting.

 I often think of you, Judy, and your children, and will always be so grateful for all you've done for so many people, both young and older.

I know that God is blessing you, Bill.

I’ve known Bill for just short length of time.. he is my neighbor next to my house in chilliwack...he’s a good kind hearted person he always smile every time we see each other on his shop..thank you Bill for such privilege knowing you..

Bill Enns... you made me feel like I was valued and loved even at the age of 6. You were a kind and empowering man who encouraged me. Made room for me and gave me freedom to grow.  You even made sure I got my first pony and I will never forget your kindness.  Your laugh and smile put people around you at ease. Your heart for camp was so evident and you impacted many. See u in heaven❤️

We entrusted our youngest daughter Leslie to Bill & Judy's care for about ten years as Riding Director at Pioneer Chehalis Camp.  The Enns family became like part of ours and we are very grateful to both Bill and Judy for their faithful service to us and many others.

One winter at Chehalis, we had about 3 ft of snow.  Bill and I were walking down to the barn together to feed the horses.  I was wading my way desperately to try to keep up to Bill.  After a few steps, Bill suggested that I walk behind him in his footsteps.  His large body made a natural trench for me to walk in with ease.  “Is that better?” He asked me.

I have often thought of that day as it illustrates  my relationship with him.  In those days  I literally walked in his footsteps, gleaning from him anything he could teach me.  My adult life has been shaped by the things that he taught me in his quiet gentle way.  

When I am asked who were my life influencers, Bill Enns is always at the top of my list.   If I had to sum up  3things that has most impacted me , the first would be kindness.  Bill was the kindest man that I know.  He looked for the best in people, welcoming anyone with a wide smile and open arms.  He made each person feel special to him.  Bill taught me to be genuine, to live out a simple faith, by loving and welcoming others.

Bill emulated Servant Leadership.  If something needed to be done, he picked up a shovel or hammer or whatever the case and he did it.  I would come up from the barn, having finished my chores and  find him scrubbing toilets, setting up the dining room chairs., or stacking firewood.  Bill taught me to how to look above and around me, and how to be resourceful to get the job done well. 

Bill used to say, “There are no problems, only opportunities.”  If I had a problem, he would help me to see it from another angle that shed light on the situation and therefore a way through. .  I have quoted him throughout my life when I have had to face conflict resolution.  Bill taught me to find the opportunity of growth, and to value others involved. 

Bill has left big footsteps to follow. I am jealous for him that he is laughing and hugging Jesus in this moment.  Once again, he has paved the way ahead of me.  
He was my hero.


Bill had more clues than most.
One of the nicest, warmest, and most naturally relatable men with uncompromising integrity, i’ve ever had the honour to know.
Thanks for your time in my life.
Leaving may leave some emptiness.
But the life you left with those you loved and touched remains.
And fills where your smile is missed.
Lucky heaven.
We’ll see you again soon.
And rejoicing never ends.
