Barbara Jean McDaniels

Born in Cabarrus County, NC on August 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Eugene Carter and Mildred Louise Avant Carter.

Upon graduating high school, Barbara married Clarence Eugene McDaniels and they share 43 years of marriage together before his passing in 2000.

Barbara worked in Data Entry with Shoe Show for several years. She was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church, where she served in the nursery; helped with the card ministry and was always available to help anywhere needed.

She was a seamstress and quilter, making many baby quilts over the years. She loved her family and enjoyed being “Grandma Barbara” to many children over the years. All that knew her will miss her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Douglas McDaniels (Myra), Michael McDaniels (Teresa) and Jeffrey McDaniels and one brother, Jerry Carter (Tanya).

Her grandchildren, Jessie McDaniels, Chrissy Cook, Michelle McDaniels and Patrick McDaniels, and great-grandchildren, Maverick, Aiden, Colton, Zoey, Malachi, Eli, Macayla, Ethan, Alaina, Natalie and Emery also survive her.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Piedmont Baptist Church 5870 Wright Road, Kannapolis, NC.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Mike Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to Piedmont Baptist Church Building Fund.
