Bertha “Eileen” Turnbaugh Lowder, age 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House. She was born in Baltimore County, Maryland, on April 20, 1942, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Ann Trump Turnbaugh. Eileen was a member of Mt. Hope Church and enjoyed spending time tending to the rose garden at the Wallace House, relaxing at the beach, and going fishing. Above all else, Eileen cherished the time she spent with her family, who were the center of her life. She will be dearly missed for her unwavering dependability, kind spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Knight Lowder, Sr.; son, Kenneth Knight Lowder, Jr.; and grandson, Jamie Pethel.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Yvonne Fries (David), Becky Rocha, and Mary Decker (Bobby); grandchildren Amanda Pruett, Daniel Fries, Tina Porter, April Safrit, Chance Rocha, Brittany Mencia, Ashley Caballero, and Samantha Lowder; great-grandchildren Avery, Mackenzie, Daphne, Grayson, Faith, Wesley, Allison, Davison, Aliyah, Yazmin, Ivy, Manuel, Alexander, Brandon, Christian, Damien, Lilianna, Kaylee, Isaiah, Adriel, and Skylah; along with many other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Funeral service to celebrate Eileen’s life will follow in the chapel at 3:00 pm with Rev. Johnny Boggs officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at West Lawn Memorial Park.
