Salisbury-Betty Booth Correll, 77, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday evening, October 4, 2012, at CMC Northeast Medial Center. Born December 3, 1934 in Kannapolis, she was a daughter of the late Fred Henry and Margaret Ellen Hare Booth. A graduate of Landis High, Betty had retired from Cannon Mills after more than 30 years of service. Following her retirement, and for the next 22 years, she was a devoted and loving CNA for Hospice of Rowan County. A life-long loyal member of Highest Praise Family Worship Center, she had been active in many phases of the church, including serving as Sunday School teacher, choir member and served in the Ladies Ministry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Correll, on January 7, 2006, a sister, Lillian Kiker and son-in-law, Phil Hargraves.
Family members left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Crystal Dease and husband, Roy, and Trish Hargraves, her sister, Lois Harvey, all of Salisbury , grandchildren, Kelly Dease, Katrina Crisco, Rickey Dease, Kristen Melchor, Steven Griffin, II, and Kayla Steger, her great-grandchildren, Brittany Poole, Dakotah and Sierrah Dease, Rickey Dease, Jr., Marshall and Braxtyn Steger and Cain Dease, Kenneth, Lillian and Butchy Crisco. Others include her best friend, Ginger Smith, special nephew, Bill Harvey and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mrs. Correll's life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Highest Praise Family Worship Center, conducted by Pastor Wayne Miller and Bruce Rabon. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
