Betty Louise Johnson passed away April 6, 2018 at her home. She was born July 24, 1930 in Rowan County to the late Mary Belle Ketner and Floyd S. Bost. She was preceded in death by her late husband, James Earnest Johnson who passed away on September 3, 2004. Jim and Betty were married for 54 years.
Betty graduated from Salisbury (Boyden) High School class of 1950. She retired from Albany International, a fabric forming company where she worked for 20 years.
Betty a member of Maupin Avenue Presbyterian Church since 1939 will be dearly missed. She was very active in all aspects of Women's Ministries and generously shared her gift and passion for music by singing in the choir.
Betty was a person of great strength that loved Jim well and while living in Wisconsin they raised four wonderful children together. Betty was an artist at heart who enjoyed drawing, loved line dancing, was an avid reader, liked to play piano, made many memories while camping with her family and she and Jim with the Over the Hill Gang. Always active and fit, Betty loved her Silver Sneakers Exercise Class.
Those left to cherish and continue her memory are her children Judy Young (Dan) of Wells, Nv, Joe Johnson of China Grove, Jim Johnson (Ruth) of Carson, Ca, and Wendy Jansen (Gary) of Appleton, Wi; sisters Ruth Coley and Scout Lomax (Jim); five grandchildren and seven great-grand children, sister in law Gaye Bost and numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her brothers Harold, John, Bob, Jake, Bud and Max Bost.
The family wishes to thank Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness to our mother during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14 at 11:00AM at Maupin Avenue Presbyterian Church, 100 Maupin Ave. Salisbury, NC 28144, preceded by family visitation from 10:00 till 11:00AM. Rev. Randy Foster will officiate.
