Born in Rutherford County on July 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Weldon L. Wall and Willie Marie Chapman Wall.
In addition to her parents, her husband, William G. Reid; brother, Samuel and two sisters, Joyce and Clara Jean also preceded Betty in death.
Betty worked at Food Lion over the years as a head cashier. She loved traveling and shopping with her family. Spending time with family and cooking were her favorite pass times.
She was proud to be the oldest member of Landis Baptist Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, worked with the youth, and was a member of the Lois Rutledge Circle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bill R. (Belinda) Reid, Mike (Kim) Reid, Pamela (Tommy) Hooks and Jana Funderburk; sister, Louise Shive; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Landis Baptist Church.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Austin and Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
