

Betty Jean Daugherty Walters, age 73 of China Grove passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 20, 1951 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Floyd Daugherty and Margaret Beck Daugherty. She was a 1969 graduate of South Rowan High School and went on to receive education from Central Piedmont Community College. She was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist for 55 years. She also was the pianist for 30 years for South China Grove United Methodist. Betty loved to cook and bake. Some even said that she made the best cake ever. She had a serving heart and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Professionally, she worked for many years for Food Lion Pharmacy in China Grove as a pharmacy tech.
Those with cherished memories are her husband of 54 years, Grant Walters and sons Brian Walters (Kayce), Keith Walters (Amy) and David Walters (Jessica) as well ss her brother Floyd Daugherty Jr. (Denise). Also surviving her are her grandchildren Shelby Robinette (Sam), Karlie Walters, Kurtis Walters , Kyle Walters and Wade Walters.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 11:00 till 1:00 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in China Grove with funeral to follow at 1:00 pm also at the church with Pastor Jody Seymour, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
