Billie Euvirrla McManus Freeze, age 83 of China Grove, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Atrium Health – Cabarrus after a period of declining health. Born September 15, 1938 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Luther McManus and Beulah Harrington McManus. In addition to her parents, Billie was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Murray Freeze and her sisters, Doris and Delores and just recently, her son in-law Perry Kimball. She was a longtime member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in China Grove.

Billie spent her career in the clothing area of the textile industry but more importantly, raising her children. She loved flowers and gardening and always had an arrangement of flowers on the table to enjoy. Billie was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for family holiday gatherings. She was happiest just “puttering” around the house and being with her beloved family and grandchildren, especially spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jackie F. Kimball, Dwana Benton (Eddie) and Kim Cauble (Kerwin) along with her son, Rickey Freeze. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brian Kimball, Lisa Blackmon, Meredith Smith (Patrick), Matthew Cauble (Stephanie) and her great-grandchildren, Austin and Autumn Blackmon, Grayson Cauble, Nolan Cauble and Saoirse Smith.

Visitation for Billie will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2:30 – 4:00pm at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 4:00pm in the Church. Committal Service will take place at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church Cemetery after the service. The family has requested you kindly remember Billie with memorials in her honor to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Road, China Grove, NC 28023. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Freeze.

We absolutely loved this sweet lady. She was funny and a pleasure to be with. She was really caring and one of the last southern ladies. She also was a great church member. We will miss you dearly, my friend. Janet and Michael Kotish

My favorite customer at the drug store. Absolutely loved exchanging daily stories with her. What a beautiful lady inside and out. Extremely caring lady. Definitely don’t make them like her anymore. Could explain anything to her and she was so easy to talk too. Will be missed very much. Enjoy your wings Ms Billie. I’m sure that you got the biggest because it doesn’t matter now how tall you are 😘
