Brady "Harold" Sechler

Brady Harold Sechler, 92 of China Grove passed away on September 9, 2016. Born on June 17, 1924 in Rowan County to the late Wedmore and Lillian (Butler) Sechler. Harold proudly served his nation during WWII in the US Navy serving in the South Pacific. He worked for Corriher Mills for over 46 years. He was a lifelong member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities for 75 + years. He enjoyed growing a large garden every year. Many of his family & friends got to enjoy the fruits of his labor and his passion for seeing things grow. To many he was known for having a large pumpkin patch at his house in China Grove. Harold truly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He always was there to help his family or a friend in need.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Rebecca Nannie Sechler; his daughter, Susan Burr and her husband Charlie of China Grove; his son, Stephen Sechler and his wife Jane of Mt. Juliet, TN; his sister, Mabel Osborne of China Grove; his grandchildren, Stephanie Reilly and her husband Jackie, Steven Sechler Soto and his wife Bianca, Julie King and her husband Eric and Andrew Burr and his wife Tracy; his 10 great grandchildren and many additional loving family and friends.

Visitation hours will be held today Sept. 11th from 6-8pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 N. Main St., China Grove. Harold will also lie in state on Monday Sept. 12th from 10:15am to 10:45am at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, China Grove. A funeral service will follow at 11am with the burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 4820 NC 152 W., China Grove, NC 28023 in his memory.
