February 27, 1937 – January 27, 2019
Mr. Carl Bare, age 81 of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Atrium Health-NorthEast in Concord after a brief illness. Mr. Bare was born February 27, 1937 in Ashe County to the late Eugene Bare and Pearl McGready Bare and was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Jones. He was educated in Ashe County schools and relocated to China Grove area where he was a 1955 graduate of China Grove High School. He worked for Cannon Mills for 39 years and retired as a supervisor. Mr. Bare was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in China Grove. After retiring, he enjoyed his time traveling and camping with his wife, Fann. They also loved attending NASCAR races where they also enjoyed camping while at the races. Mr. Bare loved going to car shows and never missed the spring or fall car shows at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He loved supporting his grandchildren in all of their sporting events and rarely missed attending them. He and his wife were lifetime members of the South Rowan High School Booster Club and were faithful fans for many, many years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Fann Bare and his sons, Randy Bare and Todd Bare (Tera). His brothers, Ernest Bare, Robert Bare, and Paul Bare (Sarah) also survive him. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Devin (Sarah), Spencer, Emily, Gavin, Peyton, and great-granddaughters, Gabby and Anna Lee, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bare was a people person, never meeting a stranger and he never went anywhere that he didn’t know someone. All who knew and loved him will dearly miss him.
Funeral Service for Mr. Bare will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:30pm at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 1415 South Main Street, China Grove officiated by Rev. Mark Burns. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 12:30-2:30 in the Parlor of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in his honor be made to the New Construction Fund at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1298, China Grove, NC 28023.
