Cheryl Corrine Hunt

Cheryl Corrine Hunt, 78, passed away on July 6, 2026, at home, peacefully surrounded by her family. Raised by her grandmother—whom she lovingly called mama Suttle—Cheryl’s life was shaped early by steadfast love, and she carried that same spirit of devotion into everything she did.

Cheryl was faithful in her convictions and unwavering in her commitment to the KJV Bible, speaking openly and often about her Jesus to anyone who would listen. With a bachelor’s degree in Bible theology, she wrote many books and essays, always with the hope that others would come to know Jesus. Her compassionate heart found a special purpose in women’s jail ministry, where she went to share the Word for as long as she was able; even when she could no longer go, her desire to keep spreading the message never left her.

A magnificent artist, Cheryl painted throughout her life, offering beauty and warmth through her work. Known for being kind-hearted and welcoming, she never met a stranger. Even through an extremely hard life—through trials many will never face—her smile endured, untarnished. She remained happy and vibrant at the worst of times, and her unconditional love was given freely. In ways both quiet and unforgettable, Cheryl was inspirational to those around her; she could make anyone laugh no matter what was going on, and many described her as a light in a dark place.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Williford; her brother, Jerry Williford; and her uncle, Bill Cavin. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Jerry Hunt; her sons, Chris Hunt and Jonathan Hunt; her daughter, Julia Camanse; and all her grandchildren, who all cherished her deeply.

Visitation will be held at New Testament Independent Baptist, 5140 Irish Potato Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083, on July 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow from 3:00 pm . A Graveside Service will be held from 4:00 pm at the church cemetery.
