Daniel Lee Swink

Mr. Daniel Lee Swink, 72 of China Grove passed away on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born on July 18, 1941 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late John Lee and Lela Hutchens Swink. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. He retired from Rowan County Schools as a custodian. Mr. Swink, known as the "Candy Man" enjoyed watching baseball and the companionship of his cats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother Raymond Franklin Swink. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Gail Lemly Swink, sons Daniel Lee Swink Jr. of Salisbury and John Douglas Swink (Jackie) of China Grove, brother Bristol Ralph Swink (Ruby) of Rockwell, Sisters Janie Lucille Williams of Mocksville, JoAnn Menius of Concord and Ruby Williford (James) of Spencer. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Eva Ariel Swink and Todd Chandler Swink, and great grandchild Sophia Marie Swink.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 1:00 til 2:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, with funeral at 2:00 also at the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Ketchie, Minister Burial will follow at Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery in Spencer. A special thanks go to Dr. Neil Patel and the staff of the First Floor ICU at Novant Health.
