He was born in Rowan County on August 8, 1946 to the late Joseph Alexander Clayton and Mary Kathleen Lipe Clayton.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Clayton.
Mr. Clayton worked for over 20+year with Walmart and was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marcia Clayton; niece, Alicia Kennedy; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; and four great-great nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home, with burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.
