

Mrs. Burr was born on May 22, 1953 in Cabarrus County and was the daughter of the late John Robert Bennett and Dorothy Hartis Bennett.
She was a 1971 graduate of A. L Brown High School. She was a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church in China Grove. She worked for Duke Energy where she retired after over 30 years of service.
She was a Patriotic mom, a lover of animals and an avid traveler. Going to eat out with friends, reading and cooking were some of her favorite things. She particularly loved to go deep sea fishing and being at the beach. During her traveling, she and her husband enjoyed eating at various stops along the way.
Those with cherished memories are her husband of 49 years, Michael Anthony Burr, her son Matthew Brian Burr, who is active in Naval Service, her daughter Tina Michelle Burr as well as sister in law Betty Teal (Bob), brothers in law James Burr (Dianne) and Eddie Burr. Also surviving her is her lifelong friend Julia Sechler Caudle.
Visitation will be on Wednesday June 28, 2023 from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm in Langford Hall of First United Methodist Church in China Grove, with funeral to follow in the sanctuary at 2:00 pm with Rev. Will Van Wieren, officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cabarrus Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or Oasis Shriner Hospital for Children in honor of Donna Burr at [email protected].
