Elizabeth Walters

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Kearns Walters, 93 formerly of China Grove passed away on Monday August 29, 2016 at Novant Rowan Health Medical Center.. Born on March 28, 1923 in Chesterfield County S.C., she was the daughter of the late John Carson and Louisa Hendrix Kearns. In recent years, she resided at Magnolia Gardens in Spencer. Mrs. Walters attended Chesterfield County Schools and was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She had worked earlier in life for Corriher Mills and later became owner operator of Walters Fabrics. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and gardening. She particularly loved her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Garland Kyle Walters in 2007 and her son Charles Edward Walters in 2014 and her son in law Bill Welch in 2007 She was also preceded by her step mother Carrie Parker Kearns. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Walters Welch of Salisbury and son Garland Grant Walters (Betty) of China Grove. Her grandchildren are Eddie Walters (Carol), Randy Walters (Janet), Andrew Welch (Toni), Brian Walters (Kayce), David Walters (Jessica) and Keith Walters (Amy). Great Grandchildren include Shelby,Sarah, Emily, Charlie, Meredith, Karlie, Kurtis and Kyle Walters, Kourtney Welch and Kayla Belk. She also had 2 great great grandchildren

Visitation will be on Saturday from 6:00 til 8:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral on Sunday at 3:00 also at the funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Gibbons, minister. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Gardens for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Walters.
