Evelyn Lorene Hutchinson Morris

Evelyn Lorene Hutchinson Morris, 89, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, May 2, at Liberty Commons Nursing Home. She was born on December 17, 1927 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late James Pinkston and the late Anna Marie Ross Hutchinson. She was educated in the Rowan County schools. She worked as a Winder for Linn-Corriher Mills until her retirement. She is the last of the Charter Members of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church family very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Fred Morris and a Granddaughter Pam Sides.

Survivors include a son; Junior Morris of Salisbury. Daughters; Linda Sides (Jim) of Salisbury, Donna Clark (Keith) of Waldorf, MD, and Robin Phillips (David) of Salisbury. Two Brothers; Gerald Hutchinson and Dean Hutchinson both of Salisbury. Sister; Joyce Hamilton of Salisbury. Grandchildren; Melonie Willis (John), Lisa Pruitt (Darren), Brian Sides (Angela), Tara Swartwood (Paul), Chris Morris (Kristy), Brent Clark (Kim), Jessica Hollingsworth (Marshall). Great-Grandchildren; Kaleb, Owen, Meah, and Ellie Sides, Anderson and Grant Pruitt, Mason and Brayden Morris, Carrington Willis, Reagan and Charlotte Swartwood, Lula Hollingsworth, Tyler and Trevor Smith, Aaron and Jacob Smith.

The Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 5 at 11:00am at Gospel Light Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Wike, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church.
