Harley Reid Cook, age 85, of Salisbury, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. He was born on August 13, 1938 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Junie Cook and Zelda Goodman Cook. He served his country in the US Army and was a member of Sloan Lake Church. Harley worked for many years at Hoechst Celanese in maintenance. In his spare time, he loved drag racing and working on tractors and being with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife for over 50 years, Maye Swanner Cook. Those left with cherished memories are his son Michael Cook (Gina), and his grandchildren, Stephanie Cook (Stephanie) and Chase Cook. Also surviving are brother Virgil Cook and sisters Vergie Cook Moore and Sarah Cook Donian.
A visitation for Harley will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 N Main St., China Grove, NC, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
