Herbert Freeman Mash

Born on March 26th 1964 in Raeford VA, Herb was the child of Peggy Severt Stroud. He began his career in his young years as a pipefitter, previously of Kannapolis Sprinkler Co. & then pursued a career in Truck Driving where he enjoyed the open road, new places and trying different foods, but he always happy to make it back home. His career was halted in 2020 following a non fault accident with injury which led to his disability.

Herb was known for his quirky and funny demeanor. He always had a way of making awkward situations end in laughs and jokes. He had his stubborn tendencies, but would always try to lend a hand. He would either leave you laughing, or swearing depending on the situation, but always tried to be sure those he loved were doing okay. Herb spent much of his free time tinkering and with his best-friend with fur his Dog; Bella. Time prior to his disability He could be found with his daughter April and Mark doing something with his grandkids. He enjoyed fishing but had a passion for two wheels. He loved riding his Harley especially when his Son in Law Mark, or Neighbor David would join him.

His loving daughter April Mash Starnes & beloved Son in Law John Mark Starnes Jr; His Cherished Grandchildren Mark, Bristol, Madelyn & Miles; His Mother Peggy Stroud; His Brother, Scott Mash (Brenda & Niece Kate) Sister Melanie Yonts (Nephew Jason Loflin, Niece Jennifer Yonts) and Nephew Gregory Adam.

Herb was preceded in death by His daughter Cynthia Lynn Mash; His wife, April & Cynthia’s Mother Sherry Mash; His Cherished Older Brother Timothy Ray Mash and

His Stepfather Austin Stroud.

A Celebration Of Herb’s Life will be held at a Later Date & Time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope Ministries for Men.
