Mr. Blevins was born on February 19, 1950 in Wilkes County and was the son of the late Brownlow Blevins and Sarah Gaultney Blevins. He worked for over 25 years at Phillip Morris in the finished goods department.
He enjoyed working around the house and yard. Going to Kure Beach was a real favorite thing as well as watching racing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Gerald Blevins and Zane Blevins as well as sister Sue Shaffer and son in law Gary Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Robbie Moffitt Blevins as well as his sons James Blevins Jr. (Anita) and Chad Blevins (Wendy) and daughters Crystal Absher (Daniel) and Tangela Miller. Also surviving him are his brothers; Edward Blevins (Candy) and Allen Blevins (Dean).
Grandchildren include Zachary Fite, McKenzie Farmer, McKenlee Absher, Samantha Wilson (John), Ayden Blevins and Asher Blevins. Great Grandchildren are Miley Ervin, Ally Ervin and Emersyn Wilson and his dogs Chloe, Gracie and Hope.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
