

Born in Stanly County on September 26, 1928, he was the son of the late John Farrell Osborne and Annie Genole Pless Osborne.
Over the years, Ty worked in the textile industry and for Sandy Ridge Services. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church – Landis. He was proud of his perfect attendance of 90 continual years.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing softball earlier in life and golfing later in life. He always enjoyed cooking at church events. Ty was a two-time champion in the Rowan County Horseshoe Tournaments.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Sylvia Woodie Osborne after 64 years of marriage; brother, Bence Osborne; and sisters, Edna Watts, Ruby Martin and Maudine Kelly.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Teresa Fite (Tony), David Osborne (Patti) and James Lee Osborne; one sister, Rena Marshall; three grandchildren, Anthony Shane Fite (Michelle), Casey Fite (Elizabeth) and Stephaine Osborne Russell (Bryan); six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. At other times, the family will assemble at the home of Shane Fite.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 12:30 PM at First United Methodist Church of Landis with Rev. Beverly Coppley. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church – Landis 209 E Mill St, Landis, NC 28088.
