John Rufus Albright

John Rufus Albright passed away on Thursday April 21 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was the son of the late Rufus F "Bill" Albright and Lacie Goodson Albright, born on October 26, 1944. John attended South Rowan High School and Grand Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, SC. He also was a pastor for 3 years and retired from Food Lion Warehouse. Mr. Albright bravely served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam war. He was married to the late Linda Beck Albright who passed away on July 25, 2007. Surviving family members are 2 sons John Darrell Albright (Samantha) of Rockwell and Chris Lee Albright of Salisbury as well as a daughter Shelley Godfrey (David) of Monroe. There are 6 grandchildren Chase Albright, Caleb Albright, Summer Albright, Kennedy Albright, Jennifer Godfrey and D. J. Godfrey. With one grandchild gone to be with the Lord Brandon David Godfrey. John also had a sister Dorothy Goodman of Salisbury. The family will be at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home from 6:30pm until 8:00pm on Saturday April 23 . The service will be at West Park Baptist Church in Rockwell on Sunday April 24 at 2:00pm, burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park . The Reverend Charles Carver and Reverend Don Crusenberry will be officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to West Park Baptist Church 715 West Park Drive Rockwell, NC 28138.
