OBITUARY
Judy Alice Cress
August 9, 1944 – February 1, 2021
Ms. Judy Alice Cress, age 76 of China Grove, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. Born August 9, 1944, Judy was the daughter of the late Kenneth Richard Cress and Margaret Yost Cress. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother in-law, Michael Moore. She was a 1963 graduate of South Rowan High School. Judy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Always smiling, outgoing and could converse with anyone fit perfect with her career as a hairdresser. It all started with Vicky’s Salon in the early 1960’s and then she spent most of her career with Hair Reflections, where the girls there were not only her friends, but family. Judy was a people person for sure and loved going to S.O.S. at the beach where she loved to shag, listening to her favorite beach music and seeing her favorite bands play. She loved the Fantastic Shakers, Band of Oz, Too Much Sylvia and many others. Her laugh was infectious, her smile gracious and her personality shined with everything she did as she never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marilyn Moore; niece, Kayce Walters (Brian) and nephew, Zachary Moore (Myra) along with great nieces, Karlie Walters and Zoey Moore and great nephew, Cody Moore and Kurtis Walters. She also leaves behind so many friends who will miss her dearly.
Memorial Service to celebrate Judy’s life will be on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, officiated by Rev. Jerome Cloniger. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service. The family wishes to thank the healthcare providers of Five Oaks Manor, Atrium Health – Cabarrus and Tucker Hospice House for the care Judy received during her illness. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.linn-honeycutt.com. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Ms. Cress.

Dear Marilyn and Family, Judy was one of a kind! We spent many fun times together in our younger years going shagin, going to the beach and going to hear the bands play that we enjoyed so much.
