Julie Annette Leazer

Born July 28, 1968, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, Julie was the beloved daughter of the late Danny Lee Murph and Iris "Jill" (Self) Murph of China Grove, NC.

Julie is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Jimmy “Wayne” Leazer of Spring Lake, NC; her daughter, Christina Leazer of Yadkinville, NC; her son, Nathaniel Leazer of Spring Lake, NC; and her sister, Elizabeth (Murph) Ferrell of China Grove, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna (Murph) Kennedy.

A 1986 graduate of South Rowan High School and a 1988 graduate of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Julie began her professional career at Electronic Data Systems in Charlotte, NC. However, after the birth of her first child, she chose to step away from the workforce to devote herself fully to raising her children—a role she cherished.

Julie was a woman of deep faith, known for her devotion to Christ and her family. She was a longtime volunteer with the children’s ministry at The River Community Church in Fayetteville, where she found great joy in nurturing young hearts. Julie also loved floating down the river, trips to the beach, laughing with her family, and being present in the lives of those she loved.

She lived a life of compassion and selflessness, always willing to help others and embodying the scripture she held dear:

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. (And be thankful).” – Colossians 3:15

Julie's Celebration of life will be held at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, NC on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 5:00pm. There will be a reception for friends and family following the service at God's Church of Faith, 811 Elm Street, Kannapolis, NC.
