Karen Ann Bachman Horton

Born in Rochester, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bachman, Jr. and Patricia Buelte Bachman.

In addition to her parents, Karen was also preceded in death by one brother, David Bachman.

She worked as a Correctional Officer at Ontario County Jail for many years.

Karen loved animals, especially canines. While living in Bloomfield, New York, she owned and operated K & D Boarding Kennel. Other hobbies and enjoyment included cooking, baking, and crocheting blankets. Most of all, she loved her family and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Cherishing her memories are her husband of 55 years, Donald Walter Horton of the home; two daughters, Sheryl (Paul) Long of VA and Michelle (James) Wilcox of Salisbury, NC; two grandchildren, Patricia and Patrick Long, and one brother, Robert (Linda) Bachman of Rochester, NY.

The family will gather at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 N. Main Street China Grove, NC, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
