Born on July 31, 1947 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late James A. Hogan and Essie Troutman Hogan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Hogan and Ralph Hogan, as well as sister Kay Hogan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Melissa Shoupe (Charles); son, Marty Hogan (Amalia), as well as a brother Denny Hogan (Renee) and sister Sue Kurfees (John); longtime companion, Jackie Bryson; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Growing up, Pinky was very athletic, playing baseball and basketball at South Rowan and later was very active playing softball for over 20 years. He served his country proudly in the US Army serving in Vietnam.
A graveside with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery.
