Larry Thomas Parker

Larry Thomas Parker passed away peacefully at the Laurels of Salisbury, NC on Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1945 to Travis and Inez Russell Parker of Albemarle. He is preceeded in death by his wife of 43 years, Edna Cannon Parker, and additional family members as listed, Travis Parker, Inez Parker Barrier and Lee Barrier, Shirley Kluttz, Michael Parker and Rhonda Heintz. Those left to cherish his memories are his brother Pat Parker (Norma) children Tim Parker , Trena McDaniel (David), Ann Keck (Steve), Teresa English, Tammie Foster (Steve) and grandchildren Holly Scott (Bryan), Hope Teal, Elizbeth Galloway (Adam), Sharon Foster, Miranda Sexton (Steven), Lexi Foster, Rick Keck (Paula), Clint Keck, Amy Heintz, Randall Heintz and 11 great grandchildren.

Affectionaely known as "Pop" , Larry was a fun loving, hard working man and was well know in the community as a taxi driver and had a big heart for helping anyone in need. Larry and Edna both served the Lord together in the children's ministry at Memorial Independent Baptist Church in Landis in the late 70's and early 80's as bus workers, picking up children and taking them to church. Larry also worked for Corriher Linn Dye Plant, China Grove Cotton Mill and Cannon Mills.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Laurels of Salisbury and Carolina Caring Hospice and Palliative care for the kindness and loving care shown to Larry during his time at the Laurels.

Even in grief our hearts are at peace knowing that Larry and Edna are rejoicing together at the feet of Jesus.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the China Grove Community Memorial Center located at 412 South Myrtle Street, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00-4:00pm. Pastor Bradley McDaniel will officiate the service following the visitation.
