Leighton James Sloop, age 54, of Rockwell, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1971 in Cabarrus County and was the son of the late Gary Wayne Sloop and Doris Jean Sanders. He was employed by and retired from STI Trucking. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. In his spare time, Leighton enjoyed watching westerns of TV, reading his bible and spending time with his family.
Those with cherished memories are his children Joshua Sloop, Samuel Sloop, Rachel Sloop Dillard (Mason) and Rebekah Sloop, as well as his brothers Doug Sloop (Sheri) and Jeremy Sloop.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Phaniels Baptist Church in Rockwell with Pastor Craig Scott officiating.
