
Lucy was born December 13, 1932 in Paterson, NJ to Lorenzo and Domenica (Josephine) Spadaccini. Lucy spent 40 years as a homemaker before working for Kannapolis City Schools, from where she retired in 2007. An avid lover of bowling and bingo, "Lulu" could also frequently be found in front of a slot machine. She will be remembered for her tenacity, sense of humor, and love of her family.
Mrs. Capozzi is preceded in death by brothers Louis, George, Angelo and Patsy Spadaccini; and sisters, Mary Kressaty, Angelina Anglani, and Carmella Ciccone.
Survivors include husband Michael Capozzi, with whom she would have celebrated 63 years of marriage in June; daughters Michelle Murray of Jacksonville, FL and Denise Bender (husband Bob) of Kannapolis; sons Mike Capozzi (wife Bobbie) and Rick Capozzi (wife Jill) of Wanaque, NJ; grandchildren Jason and Ashlee Bender, Nicole and Tara Capozzi, Danielle, Lindsey, and Mathew Capozzi, and Joseph and Megan Szanto; and great- grandchildren Alison and Logan Bender. Also surviving her is her sister Anna Osterhoudt of Melbourne, Fla.
Services will be arranged by D'Agostino Funeral Home in Haskell, NJ followed by internment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
Mrs. Capozzi's family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the staff of Transitional Health Services and the Pastoral, Palliative, and Hospice teams at CMC-NorthEast for their care during her stay.
